On any given day, in Orange County, more than 5 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 1 woman will die from the disease*. These rates are what drive our mission. Susan G. Komen Orange County believes that no woman, under any circumstances, should ever be denied access to quality breast health care. While we have made great advances over the last several decades in understanding the causes of breast cancer, how it behaves in the body, and successful treatments, there are many people who still do not have access to regular mammograms or quality breast cancer treatment. Komen Orange County is focused on reducing breast cancer incidence and mortality rates with an increased emphasis on finding solutions for breast cancer disparities across populations and making an impact by saving lives and ensuring that all people, regardless of race, income, geographic location, sexual orientation or insurance status, have access to screening, and if diagnosed, to quality, effective treatment and treatment support services.
