Susan G. Komen® Orange County developed “Unidos Contra el Cancer de Seno Coalition” (Unidos) in 2009 to address breast cancer disparities between Latinas and non-Latinas in Orange County. The Coalition was created more specifically to address late stage diagnosis among Latinas by increasing breast cancer awareness education and screening.
Unidos is comprised by representatives from non-profit organizations, healthcare systems, hospitals, the health department and local businesses. These organizations have helped improve the breast health of Latinos in Orange County through outreach, education and empowerment of the community.
