Do you know a Komen volunteer who deserves to be honored at our 2019 Volunteer Recognition Event being held on February 23, 2019 at Park Newport, Newport Beach? We are now calling for nominations of volunteers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and who have shone brightly as a beacon of hope in our community! Check out the categories below and nominate someone today!
Nominations must be submitted to Carolyn Spivak, Director of Volunteers and Community Engagement at Susan G. Komen Orange County by Friday January 11, 2019. Outstanding New Volunteer
Criteria: Volunteer has served with the Orange County Affiliate for less than 2 years and made a positive impact on the organization and cause. Current Komen Board members and staff are not eligible.
Volunteer of the Year
Criteria: Volunteer has served with the Orange County Affiliate for a minimum of 5 years, has embraced the Core Values of Komen and has been a positive agent of change. Current Komen Board members and staff are not eligible.
Partner for the Cure
Criteria: A member of the community that combines their work and philanthropic volunteering to benefit the Affiliate in an extraordinary way. Volunteer must have given 3 or more years of service. Current Komen Board members and staff are not eligible.
Outstanding Youth Volunteer
Criteria: A volunteer 21 years of age or younger who has made a positive impact on the Orange County Affiliate.
Outstanding Volunteer Group
Criteria: A committee or group comprising four or more individuals that have worked together to benefit the Affiliate. Through their team effort positive outcomes have been achieved for the Affiliate. Komen OC Affiliate Committees are not eligible.
Komen Warrior Award
Criteria: Volunteer has served the organization for 10 or more years and has gone above and beyond the call of duty. The volunteer consistently strives to further the position of the Affiliate within the community while keeping the Promise at heart. This volunteer is a role model and source of inspiration for other volunteers and all connected with the organization. Current Komen staff not eligible.
Heavy Lifter/Worker Bee Award
Criteria: Volunteer who assisted with activities that were physical in nature or who undertook a project that required vast time and energy within the past year. This is a very ‘hands-on” volunteer who supports the organization behind-the-scenes and who’s support is highly valued by Komen staff.
Shining Star Award
Criteria: Volunteer who has served the organization for 1 year or more and shines brightly behind the scenes. A quiet achiever that has made a significant contribution in time and effort, or who has brought a special skill or resource to the organization. Board members and current staff members are not eligible.
